What is the difference between Giclée and professional print methods?
How Are Photographs Printed and Delivered?
Color Variations
Giclée is an ink-jet print method that uses archival pigment based-inks, acid-free, pH-neutral paper or canvas to create a rich depth of color with warm subtle tones. This process helps give a print an almost tactile feel with a depth that helps it become part of the story. A traditional professional print paper is mostly a dye-based process. It has that glossy sheen, semi-gloss, smooth satin, or a luster finish. The colors are bright and nice but not as detailed as what is offered in the Giclée print method. It has archival qualities, but not as long-lasting as the 100 + years of a Giclée print.
Due to color differences created by uncalibrated monitors, color mode selection, and/or viewing conditions, I may not be able to guarantee color trueness. Also, depending on viewing device, phone, tablet, laptop...color differences may occur. I strive to consider every detail and provide the best print possible. I therefore calibrate my monitor regularly. Still, in the real world, things happen so please note that any variation is not my intent.
I can offer different sizes that are not listed. Please be aware that due to a size that is not native to the original capture, cropping may occur. I can give you an example of what it would look like so that you will have more information in order to make your selection.
I use professional photo labs to print and deliver your order. A professional archival process called Giclée is used which ensures print longevity, and optimal print quality. Your Fine Art Print will be created using an ink-jet process that enhances visual appearance. I can provide any further information upon request.
